Test Learning Goals

Learning Goals

1. Learn what genes are and how genes determine organisms' characteristics
2. Understand how gene mutations alter genes and causes of mutations (mutagens)
3. Learn an example of disease caused by a mutation: sickle cell anemia
4. Understand gene regulation and gene expression
5. Learn how genes and the environment are related
6. Understand how DNA molecule, chromosome structure, and cell nucleus are related
7. Learn the types of human chromosomes in a karyotype
8. Understand how sex is determined
9. Learn how chromosomal mutations cause genetic disorders.
10. Understand some genetic disorders
